Maureen Denise McCormick, the sole daughter from Richard McCormick, and Irene McCormick, was born in Woodland Hills California on 5 August 1956. She won her first contest, the Baby Miss San Fernando Valley contest at the age of 6 and was contacted by Pat Domigan, a talent agent from the Jack Wormser Agency. McCormick was offered her first major job when she was cast in the commercial for television that was broadcast in 1964 of Mattels new baby doll, Baby Pattaburp. In the following year, she appeared in the role of Chatty Cathy in a commercial and was then cast for Wind It up and It's Broken by The La Jolla Playhouse. The Brady Bunch McCormick's audition was one of 1200 children who auditioned for the role of the oldest towheaded girl in The Brady Bunch. The sitcom featured Florence Henderson and Robert Reed, newlyweds who had an unmarried family. The series lasted 5 years. McCormick's book Heres the Story, Surviving Marcia Brady: Finding My True Voice was released in 2008. She revealed in it that McCormick nearly lost her virginity while on sets of the show in the fifth season, when she was a victim to Barry Williams. He was 19 years old. She was 16. It was likely that we would have a romantic couple, she added. The timing, however, wasn't right.
